If you will remember I use the WOW power of the number 3…each room should have at least three WOW factors. There can be more but there should be at least three. There are two features on the sink wall I will point out. First the shiplap siding….. adding visual texture can amp up a room. The siding adds a lot of character in this minimal space. That is our first WOW! Open shelving between the two upper cabinetry keeps the space open, warm, interesting and inviting….DEFINITE WOW factor.
Lastly, can we admire the black wall? Black wall equals instant WOW! See how the door just disappears into the surrounding wall…I did not want the door to stand out. I love black walls in kitchens with white/creamy white cabinets.
There are other factors here worth noting…
First the countertop……it is a honed granite. A honed surface finish is smooth and will have very little if any sheen. I personally think it looks aged and is a softer look. If you are in the market for granite and like things in their more natural state then you might consider a honed finish for your stone. The granite is Viginia Mist.
We continued the same hardwook plank tile flooring into the kitchen that is throughout the living/dining room areas. Here is an upclose pic during the project installation. Can you believe this is ceramic tile?
I want to talk about Craigslist in my next post. There are treasures on there!! Are you following me on Instagram? #cincinnati #style
